combo plate

So, I've decided to go for the combo plate and choose a couple of different options and see which ones I like best, hoping that I don't forget all of the passwords before I pick my fave.
The myphotoalbum deal allows me to insert a nifty little slideshow on my page, which is eyecatching and not terribly annoying so far. And I can click to it from myyahoo page which i would most certainly die without.
the flickr page also links onto the myyahoo page, and has a few more tracking options so you can see if you pictures are actually being viewed by ppl besides you.
So I added them to my page along with the link for this finally...
Also, we are going to be making the trip to the SSABATE Helmet Roast to do henna. We're partnering with Maple Arts to vend for the event, which sounds like it will be a blast! I can't wait!
I added more pictures today from this weekend and fooled with a couple of other things. I need to add the credit for the pictures and maybe some little text about the pictures. I was also thinking I might add some of my own design sketches too, it's just a matter of taking the time to scan them.
Planning to work on a few less traditional type designs for the Helmet roast. Maybe I can get Krystie to teach me how she does her fabulous flames before then.
So far the feedback from pictures and website have been pretty positive, so hopefully we're on the right track and it's just a matter of getting more work out there where people will see. Time to reread that marketing tips deal I found in that one place that one time. If only I can remember where I found it...

Too Many Choices

mood: working
I've never really been good when faced with too many choices. I'm worst in a chinese restaurant where you've got something like a hundred menu options. I'd rather just go to the buffet, where I don't have to choose just one thing, I can be the free spirit that I am. I'll take a little of this, a little of that, no major decisions to stress me out, and all is right with the world.
But then, you go to find a place to post pictures online, so you can be lazy and not have to try to figure out the mechanics of it yourself, or bother your more gifted friends to help, and the options are mind-numbing. Do I want a free site where I can keep things? Well, of course I do. I have no idea whether or not I will upload photos again next week, next month or next year. Not to mention that Free is one of my most favorite things in life. It allows me to spend money on the more important things in life like soft squishy $10 flip-flops and a month of hosting.
So I chose one, though I am not certain if I will be allowed to keep it, since it's supposed to be non-commercial. I don't think I'm commercing thru it, but I suppose it really isn't up to my definitions. I can always keep looking, or try to figure out the photo album dealio for myself someday in my "spare" time.
I did get a chance to work on more fine line stuff in the last two days. I overloaded the cones tho, so my poor hand keeps cramping from all the effort I have to exert to squish the henna out of the hugely bulbous cone. I think I will start spending more time reading the volumes of helpful info at the henna page. Maybe i can save a muscle spasm or two along the way.

Another new beginning

First step number fifty gazillion on that journey of thousands miles...
Today I was finally able to make time to write the pages for the rest of the main links on my website... It must have been that two hours I saved in taxi time now that the kids are finally out of school! The only thing I don't have working is the individual picture links. But tomorrow's another day. I am hoping to make time to finish my feet and legs before I go out to sling henna this weekend.
I did at least get to try out some of the new designs from the Ganesha's Garden book from hennapage.com. I love so many of the designs in that book! I think it's my favorite so far. I wish I was better at actually doing Ganesha himself... Something to practice, tho...
It looks like I'm also picking up an extra apprentice now, too... Not sure I'm a great teacher, but it should at least prove interesting at the very least!
